William the Conjurer

WILLIAM

the Conjurer

When he was 7 years old, William watched a magician performing in a local park and he knew then that was what he wanted to do.  Money was tight, so he began by inventing his own tricks with which he amazed his family and neighborhood children.  As he grew up, so did his magic.  Honing his performance skills on the porch or in the dining room at a family dinner, William soon felt ready to go out into the world of magic.

At the age of 14, William received his first payment for a show, quite by surprise.  He had volunteered to perform for the local senior citizens' nutrition site.  Thrilled to have him, the manager told him to come and have lunch, then perform.  Following the show and the ovation, someone passed the hat (a ball cap, actually) and William's professional career began.

Since then, schools, clubs, restaurants, civic organizations, and businesses have hired William to perform at their functions.  What William learned as a young magician inventing and developing his own tricks has stood him in good stead.  Today, his show features many original tricks and illusions performed by no other magician.  In addition, William has studied old and new techniques of magic, joining the Society of American Magicians as a teen and communicating with many of the premier magicians in the world.  William is also a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, The Magic Classroom, The Darwinian Society, and Magic Plus.  William has been published in Visions: The Online Journal of Magic, "The Pitch" Post, and The Linking Ring and was recently asked to become a mentor in the Society of American Magicians Mentoring Program, and, in 2013 was presented the Alliance of Harry Houdini Award from the Society of American Magicians.

With a love of the magicians he grew up reading about and seeing, William has styled his show to be more like that of the classic greats of magic.  Though not old-fashioned, William's show evokes the bygone era of the "Gentleman Magician", where the job of the magician was to entertain and astound, not to shock and embarrass his audience.

William's show can be themed to any group, holiday, or event and plays as well for and audience of 1 to 1000 and for ages 5 to 105.

From close-up, to walk-around, to a full stage show, William is the only magician you need to fulfill your magical entertainment needs.  No show is too big or too small.
